Clinton P. Carlisle
Partner

Clinton Carlisle is a partner at Carlisle Barnett PC in Broomfield, Colorado. His practice centers on sophisticated estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning for individuals and families, particularly those with complex or high net worth estates. Clinton regularly helps clients design and implement strategies to minimize tax, address valuation and liquidity concerns, and integrate long-term, multigenerational planning. His work often involves irrevocable trusts, family partnerships, and other structures intended to preserve wealth for future generations and protect that wealth from beneficiaries’ potential creditors and other risks.
In addition to tax-focused planning, Clinton advises clients on estate planning, estate administration, planning for beneficiaries with special needs, and business formation, maintenance, and succession planning for closely held entities.
Clinton earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with honors, from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, and received his law degree from the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder, with an emphasis in taxation. He joined the predecessor firm, Schafer Thomas Maez PC, in 2016 and has practiced with the firm ever since.
Clinton is admitted to practice law in Colorado and is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Trust and Estate Section, the Boulder County Estate Planning Council, and the Boulder and Adams/Broomfield County Bar Associations. He currently resides in Erie with his wife, a veterinarian at Left Hand Animal Hospital in Niwot, Colorado, and their two children, Owen (2020) and Remington (2024). Clinton serves on the Broomfield FISH Board of Directors. In his free time he enjoys golfing, snowboarding, games, and spending time with his family.
